Islada is an independent architectural lighting design studio established in Donostia-San Sebastian in 2017 to respond to the need for the development of quality lighting projects detached from specific brands. We are a young, ingenious and dynamic studio that grows day by day thanks to excellent collaborations.
We use light as a tool for the creation of personalized spaces and environments. As lighting designers we have a responsibility for the image created by natural light and artificial lighting to improve people’s emotional state and quality of life. Creativity, passion and technique are our keys to achieve balanced spaces with their own identity. Light, space and the perception of the people who inhabit it are our pillars of creation.
Nora Imaz has been part of renowned national and international lighting studios before founding Islada Lighting; Nora is a Technical Engineer in Industrial Design (Mondragon Unibertsitatea) and holds a Master’s Degree in Architectural Lighting Design (KTH, Stockholm). He has previously worked in the teams of Ljusarkitektur in Stockholm (now Light Bureau) and Artec3 in Barcelona. Passionate about light and a job well done, she works with the support of her collaborators.
